The Barossa Airshow is Back!

The Barossa Airshow will take off again on 11th April 2021.

It will be a day packed with amazing aerial action, exciting entertainment and family fun, in South Australia’s beautiful Barossa Valley.

The Barossa Airshow first took to the skies in 1998.  It has been held every two years until 2017, and it has become a nationally recognised aeronautical and community event.

The Rotary Club of Barossa Valley is hosting the 2021 event  and is proud to continue the legacy of the original hosts, St Jakobi Lutheran School of Lyndoch.

Patrons bring along their deck chairs and blankets to laze on, while the day and activities unfold around them. The event has a well earned reputation as a relaxed family day out in a picnic style atmosphere, charged with adrenaline.

The Thrill of an Airshow

Aircraft, high above, in the hands of skilled pilots, pushing the limits of aerobatic display, provide a thrilling spectacle and magnificent display.

People love to watch the planes dipping and soaring, spinning, and rolling, and defying the laws of gravity.

The Barossa Airshow is such an event, and its setting against the backdrop of the beautiful Barossa Ranges is only one of the elements that make it truly unique.

Pilots from all walks of life, flying a wide variety of aircraft, will make their way to the Rowland Flat Airfield for a day of non-stop action and entertainment

In the air, pilots will demonstrate their flying skills and craft by performing various flying manoeuvres.

On the ground, visitors will be able to view the aircraft and chat to the pilots.

However, there are even more attractions to be enjoyed.  Visitors will be able to browse market stalls laden with local produce and goods.  They will also be able to view special display exhibits, and information stands hosted by range of aviation and other community groups.

Throughout the day they will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch, drink or snack from one of the many catering outlets, and enjoy a range of fair ground amusements.

Family and Community Event

The Barossa Airshow is an event with a strong focus on families and community.

It aims to be an affordable day out with non-stop aerial entertainment, market stalls, special display exhibits, and a good selection of tasty food and refreshing drinks.

Service Clubs, Not-for-Profit organisations and businesses from the Barossa and surrounding areas will be key players in providing the land based stalls, exhibits and catering outlets.

Funds for the Barossa Community

The Rotary Club of Barossa Valley feels privileged and proud to take on this challenge and is excited about the potential it offers for significant fund raising.

Local community groups, charities and Rotary’s own service projects in the Barossa Valley will benefit from the proceeds of the Barossa Airshow.

Major beneficiaries of the 2021 event will be Barossa Area Fundraisers for Cancer and the Rotary Club’s own University Scholarships program.
