Since its inception in 1998, the Barossa Airshow has been held biennially until 2017. Over this time the event has grown and evolved into a major event for the Barossa Valley and aeronautical communities.

Each Barossa Airshow has seen significant increases in crowd numbers and participation by pilots and aircraft owners.  Phone calls and letters received after every event are testaments to its excellence

In 2002 a significant goal was achieved when a record attendance of 5000 people was achieved. More recently the 2015 event attracted over 5500 people, and a good crowd was there again in  2017. Despite COVID -19, the 2021 Airshow still had good attendance.

Major recognition came when the 2000 Airshow won the Barossa Council’s “Community Event of the Year” award and the 2007 Airshow received an SA Great Commendation.

The Airshow Management Committee has been working on bringing the 2023 event to fruition since April 2022.

Sponsorships will be a key component of maximising fund raising efforts, with the funds, or services received, being used to cover as much of the production costs as possible.

There are a number of levels of sponsorship available:
>Platinum Wing (one only);
>Gold Wing
>Silver Wing
>Bronze Wing

There is also the possibility of providing sponsorship by way of in-kind goods and/or services

At Gold and Silver levels, sponsorship is available to only one business from each type to ensure premium impact and visibility ie only one winery, only one restaurant etc. In-kind Sponsors will receive benefits according to the value of support provided.

Details of the benefits available for each level of sponsorship are set out in the table below.
